The Building Sustainable Communities grant helps build thriving sustainable communities that provide a high quality of life for Manitobans. The grant leverages investments in community development by local governments, non-profit organizations and others.
Building Sustainable Communities provides a grant contribution of 50 per cent of eligible project costs up to $75,000 and up to $300,000 for large capital projects. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, charitable organizations, municipalities and Northern Affairs community councils
As per subsection 186(2) of The Public Schools Act; after receiving notice of the estimated operating and capital support for the next fiscal year from the Public Schools Finance Board, a school board with resident pupils attending DSFM shall estimate the amount of revenue that will be required to be raised by a special levy and shall apportion to each municipality within the school division an amount that bears the same relation to the total amount that is required to be raised by special levy as the total school assessment in respect of each municipality bears to the total school assessment prorated in respect of the school division and DSFM. Included is an adjustment to the previous year's special levy based on actual resident pupils attending DSFM. The form is included in the FRAME Budget Template.

The report is used for the recording of actual instructional days that students attended for the spring term. If instructional, in-service, parent-teacher conference, administration, or pupil evaluation days differed by grade or class, then a separate report is required by grade or class.

A process has been established with the Student Financial Assistance Program whereby Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) Case Coordinators may request priority processing of a participant's student loan application.
EIA participants who are participating in an educational plan may receive awards, bursaries and grants for a variety of reasons and EIA will exempt funds of $100.00 or less and funds in excess of $100.00 may be exempt if used to offset education costs, unless used for personal needs, in which case it should be treated as unearned income.
