Appropriate Educational Programming in Manitoba: Standards for Student Services embodies the spirit of human rights legislation and regulations, elaborates upon the education regulations and establishes standards for school divisions.  These standards provide school divisions with a framework to use in developing local policy for appropriate educational programming.
As per Subsection 41(4) of The Public Schools Act; no later than October 31 in each year, each school board shall furnish to the minister, in the form and manner that the minister requires, a duly audited financial statement showing the revenues, expenditures and other financial information relating to its school division for the immediately preceding fiscal year, and the financial position of the school division or school district at the close of the immediately preceding fiscal year.
Board and room pupils are resident pupils who are required to live away from home to attend a school in the resident division for a program not offered in the designated school, or who are attending a public school in another division for a program not offered in the resident division, and who would also be required to travel a minimum one-way distance of 80 kilometers from their residence to the school attended. Pupils who become eligible for board and room support between October 1st and June 30 are reported on this form.
