Guideline on Emergency Action Plans For Food Establishments: Contaminated Water supply (Boil Water Advisory)

This guide provides guidance to assess the situation and immediately discontinue operation if a safe operation cannot be maintained; and contact the Public Health Inspector to determine whether a safe operation can be maintained and to discuss alternate procedures to be used following boil water advisory when an onsite water supply has exceeded the maximum contaminant level for coliform bacteria. The guide is applicable to operators of food service establishments and stipulates actions in the event of boil water advisory. Health, Seniors and Active Living enforce the guidelines.
